In my house, we love chocolate chip cookies.
But…although my mom gave me an amazing chocolate chip pudding cookie recipe, sometimes I’m not in the mood for scooping out cookies. Y’all have to admit, that as a dessert, cookies are pretty high-maintenance. So, when my boyfriend requested chocolate chip cookies for the millionth time last week, I decided to look for a bar form instead.
Spread ’em in a baking dish, pop ’em in the oven, and spend your time doing something better than scooping yet another tray full of cookies. My kind of recipe.
The recipe I found on Pinterest and tried out is from So Festive. Of course, I had to put my own little spin on things, namely because I LOVE cinnamon. Seriously, if you don’t already, start adding a teaspoon of cinnamon to your cookie and cake batters. It will change your life. I go through so much cinnamon that I’ve started buying the big restaurant-sized containers to save money.
These cookies bars are just the right amount of crunchy and chewy. They’re perfect right out of the oven with a big glass of milk and freeze really well if you want to save some for later. And, you can switch things up a little by using white chocolate chips, nuts, M&Ms or even….raisins.
Ew, on second thought, just kidding about the raisins. It’s cruel and unusual for you to set out of plate of what appear to be chocolate chip cookies bars only to have your guests discover they have a mouthful of raises.
Here’s the printable recipe! If it looks good to you, don’t forget to pin it so you can find it when you’re ready to bake!
