Air Fryer Eggs Benedict Recipe: Up Your Brunch Game!

Iโ€™m a huge fan of eggs benedict when it comes to breakfast or brunch. What I donโ€™t love is all the dishes and mess I create trying to bring all the components together. This air fryer Eggs Benedict recipe is a game changer for me!

Why Youโ€™ll Love This Recipe

Your air fryer makes it so easy to make great Eggs Benedict. Why? Well, it can toast your bread, brown your meat, poach your eggs, and even make your hollandaise sauce!

Itโ€™s also very adaptable. If youโ€™d like to only poach the eggs in the air fryer, you can work on the other components separately in the meantime. I just prefer to do everything in the air fryer so Iโ€™m only working with one appliance.

I also love Benedict for breakfast and brunch because you can choose your favorites and change it up to be different all the time. While Canadian bacon is the classic protein choice, you can use ham, turkey, roast beef, crab cakes, salmon, anything!

What Youโ€™ll Need: Ingredients

ingredients to make air fryer eggs benedict
  • 1 English muffin (2 halves)
  • 2 slices Canadian bacon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 Tbsp water
  • 0.9-ounce package Hollandaise sauce mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 Tbsp butter (divided)
  • Nonstick or oil spray
  • Paprika or chives for garnish (optional)

Special Equipment Note: You will need 2 ramekins or other small dishes that are oven safe for the eggs. Youโ€™ll also need some sort of oven safe bowl or dish for the Hollandaise sauce (Iโ€™m using a small casserole dish)

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

  • You can swap in biscuits, bread, or anything similar in place of the English muffins
  • Canadian bacon can be swapped for ham, bacon, or any other protein choice you like (though cooking times will vary slightly)
  • Butter is interchangeable with margarine here, and can be omitted on the muffins themselves
  • You can make homemade hollandaise if preferred, but I like to use the premade mix because itโ€™s no fail and can be cooked in the air fryer!
  • This recipe may be easily doubled or more if youโ€™re feeding a crowd (the sauce is enough for at least 4 muffin halves). Depending on the size of your air fryer, this may require multiple batches to cook

How to Make Eggs Benedict in the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400ยฐF
  2. While the air fryer is preheating, melt 4 Tbsp butter in an oven-safe bowl that fits in your air fryer (and will also hold at least 1 cup of liquid)
melt butter in oven safe dish
  1. To the melted butter, add the Hollandaise sauce mix and 1 cup of milk, stirring to incorporate
add hollandaise mixture and milk then stir
  1. Place the dish with the Hollandaise sauce into the air fryer basket along with the slices of Canadian bacon
add canadian bacon and hollandaise to air fryer basket
  1. Cook on the air fry setting for 5-6 minutes at 400ยฐF, until the bacon is browned (mine were perfect after 5 minutes)
  2. Use the remaining 1 Tbsp butter to spread evenly over the english muffin halves

  1. Remove the Canadian bacon from the air fryer, stir the Hollandaise sauce (leaving it in the basket), and add the English muffins halves face up to the air fryer

  1. Cook for 3-4 minutes at 400ยฐF on the air fry setting until the muffin halves are toasted (mine were perfect at 4 minutes)
  2. While that is cooking, spray two ramekins with nonstick spray
spray ramekins with oil
  1. Add 3 Tbsp of water to each greased ramekin, and then crack an egg into each one

  1. Remove the toasted muffin halves from the air fryer and place the egg ramekins in. Stir the hollandaise sauce again and leave it in the basket
add egg ramekins to air fryer basket
  1. Cook to poach the eggs on the air fry setting, this time at 360ยฐF, for 5-8 minutes based on desired consistency (I did 7). Feel free to toss the Canadian bacon and/or muffins halves in along the sides in the last minute if they need a warm up
  2. The hollandaise should be thickened and ready by the time the eggs finish. However, if needed you can add an additional few minutes after you pull the eggs out
  3. Construct your Eggs Benedict by placing the muffin halves onto a plate face up. Add the Canadian bacon slices on top. Use a rubber or silicone spatula to loosen the eggs. Drain the water and then turn the eggs out upside down onto the Canadian bacon (so the dome is on top). Top the eggs with the Hollandaise sauce (about 2 Tbsp per muffin half)
  4. Garnish with paprika or chives if desired, then serve

Recipe FAQs

Can You Do Poached Eggs in an Air Fryer?

Yes, you can do poached eggs in an air fryer. They need to be placed into a ramekin or oven-safe glass bowl for cooking.

Youโ€™ll want to grease the bowls, and add about 3 Tbsp water per egg before cooking. No vinegar or stirring is needed for this method.

Can You Put Raw Eggs in an Air Fryer?

Yes, you can put raw eggs in an air fryer.ย  Youโ€™ll just want some sort of dish to contain them in their liquid state.

The air fryer can be used to cook eggs anywhere from soft set to hard boiled.

Can You Cook Hollandaise in an Air Fryer?

You can cook Hollandaise in an air fryer, but need to use a premade starter to do so. Cooking from raw wonโ€™t work.

Just combine the mix, milk, and butter in an oven safe dish, place in the air fryer basket, and cook until thickened, approximately 15 minutes at 400ยฐF.

Recipe Pro Tips

  • You can also toast the English muffins in a toaster, under the broiler, or in a pan if preferred
  • The Canadian bacon may be cooked on the stovetop or under the broiler as well
  • Hollandaise may be made on the stovetop in lieu of the air fryer
  • The purpose of this recipe is to eliminate the need for other appliances in its preparation, but feel free to do other components any way that makes things easier for you
  • The sauce will splatter in the air fryer and this is normal
  • This recipe was tested on a Ninja Dual Zone air fryer (which is why youโ€™ll see two baskets) โ€“ a one basket air fryer works just fine as well. Other air fryer cooking times may vary slightly
  • If you break a poached egg transferring it from the ramekin, donโ€™t worry โ€“ theyโ€™ll still taste great (just maybe not as pretty)!

Storage and Reheating

  • While best enjoyed fresh, you can store any leftover Eggs Benedict in the refrigerator in an airtight container or covered with cling wrap, and consume within 2 days
  • Reheat Eggs Benedict in the microwave on high for about 1 minute, or in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 350ยฐF until warmed through. Note that either method will cause your egg to cook more, so itโ€™s not quite the same as fresh
