I blame my love of pork on my German heritage. Pork chops are definitely a family favorite.
Recently, I was tasked with creating a recipe using Honey Bunches of Oats. Now, you might at first think that a sweet breakfast cereal would make a perfect addition to desserts, but of course I just had to be different! I’ve used honey when cooking with pork in the past, so I thought, why not give it a try?
And I’m so glad I did…because these pork chops are da bomb.
People still say da bomb right? No? Just me? Anyone else think that the 1990s were only 5-10 years ago?
The Honey Bunches of Oats create a super-easy slightly-sweet breading for these beautiful babies. Drizzle on some warm honey soy sauce and watch your family swoon.
If pork chops aren’t your thing (gasp!), you could use this same recipe with chicken breasts or tenders. If you use breasts, just make sure they are butterflied or pounded thin so the chicken cooks all the way through before the breading burns.

I had to go out and buy another box to develop this recipe. And then another box for him to snack on, so he would stop pouting when I told him my box was off limits!
Friendly tip: make extra honey soy sauce and keep it in your fridge to use in place of BBQ sauce over the next two weeks. And an extra box of Honey Bunches of Oats to snack on. You can thank me later!
